Question 4 draft (original draft work deleted)

How we have used new technologies to help us during the; Evaluation stage
(My work is here late as it got deleted)

During the Evaluation process, many new technologies have been used, and have also assisted us in creating a professional and creative evaluation.
There are some things that have been used in all of the stages which are construction, design, production and evaluation and this is one of these things because our work in class is always done on a MAC and the reasoning is because all of the classrooms are fitted with these and the benefit is that they come with software that are essential for us to use in this project which have been extremely helpful.

YouTube was used to upload our film trailer once it had been
completed.  Instead of YouTube we could have uploaded our trailer onto social networking sites such as Facebook where videos do not get viral as fast as with YouTube.
Without media technologies, this would not have been possible and instead we would have had to relied on other, less interesting approaches. Face to face we asked potential audiences opinions and whether they feel we need to make alterations to it. By being able to access our trailer, it made the evaluation process much easier, as we weren't having to do it from memory and also that we could access it from home. Our trailer was also placed onto our website on the home page along with our ancillaries.

During the evaluation, we wanted to use more visually interesting ways to present information. We used new presentation software such as 'powtoon',  and 'prezi'. Also, when putting together our audience research results, 'windows video maker' was used. These different things were used to make our evaluation more interesting, different and easier to understand and read. We wanted to find innovative and creative ways to put together our work. Also, we found that it made our page more aesthetically pleasing, as opposed to just plain black and white writing.

Software such as 'word' and edexal' were used to help us create the basics, and relay primary essential information such as graphs for example in question 3 audience research.

Camera's were not only used during the production process, but were also used during the evlaluation stage. 'Cannon camera' was used to film audience research in the 'green room'. This was helpful as it can be seen as evidence of audience research as you can visually see the person giving feedback. Using camera's for audience research also saves a lot of time, as re-writing information from feedback given could be time consuming.

Photoshop allowed us to creatively produce the billboard advert, Magazine advert and new logos. The software was key in allowing us to create these media products. Photoshop due to its huge editing tools available enabled us to do anything we wanted. One of which was the use of the colour replacement tool. This allowed us to change the colour of the existing logo, We also created a mood board using Photoshop to showcase all the new media along with the writing for headings as downloaded fonts aren't compatible with weebly, we needed to make them into a jpeg.

Not only were computers used when using new technologies, but we also used our phones. A phone application called 'social dummy' is another new technology that was used during the evaluation process. This app assisted us during the advertising stage of the evaluation question 2, the app allowed us to create fake social networking pages, which really made our product seem real and professional. It also helped us to explain cross-promotion through social networking platforms.
Social networking apps such as snapchat and whatsapp were also used on our phones; this was essential when collecting audience research as it made it instant, quick ad easy. Being able to screenshot on the iPhone (a new technology used consistently and frequently throughout our coursework) was beneficial.

Overall we found that we used as many Media technologies we could to make our media coursework more interactive and more professional.By using all the different technologies to create and present our work. we have been able to document, upload and share all  of our work as well as keep it online so we can create copies  and access it easily. The technologies we have used have also taught us about how we can use different multimedia technologies to create a piece of work which we can then share with the public for feedback. As shown in the planning, research, construction and evaluation stage of our media project we used a varied amount of online programmes to complete our work to the highest possible standard.  Using the internet website    ‘Google’ was helpful when we needed to search up for all relating to horror movies such as its billboards, magazines, trailers as it gave us results from different time periods and we were able to compare different products. Many of our presentations and images were uploaded and created using computer technology. This made it , quick and easy to produce and share work and  allowed us to present our findings publically. Once the task had been carried out and the suitable software was selected and completed our work was then all written onto weebly, All of our work carried out is here and our tasks are shown interactively showing that our work is exciting to view and a lot of time and effort has been put into it.
